YEREVAN. - Russian crop exporters don’t want to trade with Armenian flour millers in ruble: they only accept dollar. 

Director of flour milling company “Mancho-Group” LLC, Ivan Mosoyan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent.

The difficulty for the Armenian flour millers is that the Russian flour is at the same time imported to Armenia in ruble. This has become easier to do with the fall of Russian ruble against dollar.

“It would be great if it were possible to import corn in rubl

e too. But the Russian corn traders are setting common export price in dollar, and don’t make an exclusion for Armenia,” Mosoyan said.

The issue related to VAT deduction in the Eurasian Union still remains. The Russian grain elevators, not wishing to wait for the VAT reimbursement, simply ascribe it to the price of goods, without processing.

“They do know everyone will buy crop anyway, there is no other choice,” Mosoyan said.
