YEREVAN. – Women in Armenia are not fully engaged in the political arena.

Head of the opposition “Heritage” National Assembly Faction, Zaruhi Postanjyan, stated the abovementioned at a press conference on Monday.

“Unlike the young men who have become quite weak, the young women in Armenia are educated, [and] they work a lot on their self-development,” Postanjyan said. “I’m glad that women are quite competitive today in Armenia; this will bring public change, development [in the country].”

The opposition MP argued that family commitments do not interfere with professional activities, and what is more, the family can become a stimulus for work.

On Tuesday, March 8, Armenia will celebrate International Women’s Day.
