Lyudmila Petrosyan-Doroshenko has a unique profession for a woman in Armenia. She has worked as a tower crane operator for thirty years.

Petrosyan-Doroshenko, speaking to Armenian News-NEWS.am, informed that she was born in 1937 in Shamlugh village near Alaverdi town in Lori Province.

She had taken part in the construction of numerous high-rise buildings in capital city Yerevan.

“It’s beautiful at the top [of the crane],” she added. “And far from bad people.”

Now, however, Lyudmila Petrosyan-Doroshenko is retired. She plays harmonica, helps her relatives and neighbors raise their children, takes care of her marvelous garden, and jumps rope to stay in shape.
