The Georgian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers held a tête-à-tête and extended format talks in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan. 

The parties discussed the avenues for intensifying cooperation between the two countries, Azerbaijan FM Elmar Mammadyarov said after the meetings with his Georgian counterpart, Mikheil Janelidze, according to Report.

“We discussed bilateral issues, including the Southern [Natural] Gas Corridor,” Mammadyarov noted.

The Azerbaijan FM stated that the parties conferred also on transport issues.

“The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway corresponds to the national interests of Azerbaijan and Georgia,” Elmar Mammadyarov added.

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev likewise received the Georgian FM, and stated that collaboration between the two countries actively continues in several domains.
