The recent statement by Iranian Vice President for Parliamentary Affairs Seyyed Mohammad-Reza Mir-Tajeddini should be considered in the context of Tehran’s attempts to strengthen relations with Baku, stated Giro Manoyan, head of the Hay Dat (Armenian Cause) office, ARF Dashnaktsutyun.
According to him, Tehran frequently makes pro-Azerbaijani statements, which should be considered in the context of intensification of Iranian-Azerbaijani relations.
“However, the Armenian Foreign Ministry should demand an explanation from Tehran for the Iranian Vice President’s statement,” Manoyan stressed.
According to him, Iran should coordinate its stance on the Karabakh peace process. “Recently Iranian officials have been making statements which are later denied or softened. Evidently, this should be considered in the political culture of this country or as an earlier planned step,” Manoyan underscored.
