A man committed suicide Tuesday by jumping from the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul, Turkey.

For yet unknown reasons, Erol Çetin climbed on the bars of the bridge, which connects the two parts of Istanbul, and threatened to throw himself down, according to Milliyet daily newspaper of the country.

During the conversation with the police, however, the man suddenly threw himself off the bridge.

Even though the rescuers quickly brought Çetin ashore, the doctors could not save his life.
