YEREVAN. – Armenia needs to find profitable routes to become a transit country for the transfer of Iranian natural gas to Georgia.
Ruling Republican Party of Armenia National Assembly (NA) Faction member Vardan Ayvazyan, who is also Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, stated the above-said at a press conference on Thursday.
In his words, the talks are underway with Iran.
“The gas transit route via Armenia is discussed,” Ayvazyan noted.
And reflecting on the new Georgia-Azerbaijan gas supply agreement, the Armenian MP stated that the geopolitical element has played a key role in the signing of this document.
