The Russian border troops stationed in Armenia have detained a person, who was illegally near the Armenian-Turkish border.

This person was detected at the boundary of Yerazgavors village in Shirak Province of Armenia, informed the press service of the Border Service of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation. 

He had asked the local residents how he could cross into Turkey, to rest at the Black Sea shore.

The watchful residents, however, informed about this to the nearby border patrol.

As a result, the Russian border guards, together with the Shirak police, detained the lawbreaker.

A Belarusian passport of a person born in 1978, and eight different countries’ currencies—including a Vietnamese dong—were found in his possession. 

The offender said he just loves to travel by hitchhiking.

The law enforcement officers, however, explained to the detainee that he has violated the border entry and temporary residence procedures of Armenia.

During the inspection it was found that this person is registered at a psychologist, and in 2015, he was sought for eight months as missing.

He has been handed over to the National Security Service of Armenia, for further investigation.
