YEREVAN. - During the talks with the Russian side, Armenia didn’t raise the issue of gas payment in rubles, Armenia Energy and Natural Resources Minister Levon Yolyan told the journalists today.
“No, no. That question wasn’t discussed,” the minister assured.
He reminded that the Russian gas price for Armenia is about $165 till April 1 instead of the previous $189.
The gas price was temporarily reduced to compensate Gazprom Armenia’s losses due to the Armenian drop of Armenian dram by the end of 2014, as well as to maintain the tariffs for consumers at the previous level. The Armenian side is holding talks with the Russian side over long-term reduction of the price.
