The decision of Russia to begin withdrawal of the air forces Syria may become a "prologue" to the stage-by-stage cancellation of the sanctions against Moscow by the West. A diplomatic source in Brussels expressed such opinion to RIA Novosti.

The previous day Russian president Vladimir Putin ordered to the Minister of Defense to begin withdrawal of the Russian forces from Syria starting March 15 as the tasks set for military have been carried out successfully.

"I don't exclude that the decision of Russian government may become a "prologue" to stage-by-stage cancellation of the sanctions against Russia by the West,” the interlocutor of agency has said.

According to him, "anyway Russia has once again become a key player on the international scene".
