YEREVAN. – There are no Armenian trucks on the Georgian-Turkish border.

President of the Association of International Road Carriers of Armenia, Herbert Hambardzumyan, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Armweeklynews had reported earlier that a group of truck drivers—primarily Armenian—had blocked the Sarpi control-checkpoint on the Georgian-Turkish border in both directions, and as a sign of protest against the high traffic fines in Georgia.

“Our trucks can’t be there. The passenger cars are going [there], but trucks registered in Armenia—no,” Hambardzumyan explained. “There is authorization, but no one makes use of it now. That’s why such indications about Armenian trucks [there] cannot correspond to reality.”
