YEREVAN. - The families which received flats in Armenia’s Gyumri and Spitak cities during 2010-2012, must sign corresponding agreements by the end of 2016.

The decision on this was adopted at the Armenian Government session today.

According to the written substantiation of the Ministry of Urban Development, the families which receive flats want to retain their shacks, and thus don’t want to leave them entirely, while others aspire to get bigger housing space.  

22 buildings with 1056 apartments in Gyumri and 220 cottages in Spitak were commissioned in 2010. In 2012, the number of commissioned apartment blocks reached 38, those consisting of 1756 flats. Agreements haven’t been signed for about 30 percent of them.
