YEREVAN. – The launch of the 2016 Two-month Francophonie Season once again shows the great interest which is demonstrated in Armenia toward the Francophone culture.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, on Friday noted the aforementioned in his message on International Francophonie Day, which is observed on Sunday, March 20.

“Within the framework of the Two-month Francophonie Season, around 600 cultural, educational and university events will be held this year in [capital city] Yerevan, and all provinces of Armenia,” Nalbandian’s message also reads. “Armenia can be proud of holding high the torch of La Francophonie.

“It should be stressed that, first and foremost, the [Armenian] youth are inspired by this enthusiasm. It is especially commendable that a substantial part of the events [in Armenia] devoted to the Francophone culture will be held in more than 200 primary and high, art and music schools, universities [in the country].”
