YEREVAN. - Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan and Russian Minister of Emergency Situations Vladimir Puchkov today discussed ways of cooperating in the area of emergency situations.
Abrahamyan congratulated the Russian Minister on being bestowed the Order of Friendship of the Republic of Armenia for deepening the cooperation between the rescue services of the two countries, as well as for deepening of Armenian-Russian ties. He highly appreciated Puchkov’s contribution to the liquidation of repercussions of the 1988 Spitak quake.
The PM underscored the importance of the opening of the Armenian-Russian Humanitarian Response Center in Armenia’s Kotayk province today, expressing conviction that its work will be effective.
For his part, Puchkov thanked Abrahamyan for the warm reception and highlighted the importance of the center’s opening, stressing that it will contribute to raising the level of cooperation between the two countries and implementing joint programs.
