YEREVAN. – The economic activity index of Armenia has increased by 4.7 percent in January and February of the current year, as compared to the same period in 2015.

The National Statistical Service (NSS) of Armenia has issued a statement in this regard. 

According to the NSS indicators, the country’s industry, agriculture, construction, services, and electricity production have increased in the reporting period. 

But retail trade and foreign trade have dropped.

In addition, exports grew by 23.6 percent, whereas imports fell by 12.2 percent.

Consumer prices in the country fell by 1.1 percent, whereas the average monthly nominal wage rose by 2.5 percent.

It is noteworthy, however, that the salaries decreased by 0.4 percent in the public sector, but they increased by 5.4 percent in the private sector of Armenia.
