According to the results of 2015, the number of poor Russians has grown by 3.1 mln at once, reaching 19.2 mln. This is an absolute record since 2006, Russian Federal State Statistics Service says, Gazeta reports.

In 2014, the number of the poor was 16.1 mln, while in the crisis years of 2008-2009, it constituted 19 mln and 18.4 mln respectively. In 2006 that number reached 21.6 mln.

The percentage of the poor in the total number of the Russians constituted 13.4 percent in 2015 against 11.2 percent in 2014.
