YEREVAN. – Due to currency fluctuations, the salaries of Armenia’s ambassadors and diplomats will be reviewed.
The respective decision was made at Thursday’s Cabinet session.
These changes will be made because of the US dollar and euro exchange rate fluctuations, and considering the fact that Armenia’s diplomats serve abroad and their wages outside the euro zone are linked to the dollar.
Given the changes as compared to the exchange rate forecasts for 2015, the official monthly salaries of Armenia’s extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors are between 217,900 and 247,500 drams (approx. $454 and $515).
The wages of the country’s other diplomatic corps will also be subject to reassessment.
