Friendship with Armenia is of great importance for Georgia, Georgian Vice-Premier Georgy Baramidze stated at a September 22 reception on the occasion of Independence Day in Armenia held at the Armenian Embassy in Georgia. Georgian officials and foreign diplomats accredited to Georgia were invited.

“Both countries are concerned with regional peace, stability and economic development, which requires cooperation,” he said.

RA Ambassador to Armenia Hrach Silvanyan told reporters about centuries-old Armenian-Georgian friendship. “This year our cooperation has produced good results. In this context, the North-South highway is very important. It is under construction and will make the distance between Armenia and Ajaria 200 km shorter,” he said.
