YEREVAN. - Clashes took place today between the members of the Armenian national football team's fan club, FAF (First Armenian Front), and the police. This happened near Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in capital city Yerevan, where the friendly Armenia vs. Belarus is soon to kick off.
The law enforcement officers took away the drumsticks and two posters of the FAF activists, as reported by Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent from the scene. Consequently, clashes took place, following which the police returned the fans their belongings.
One of the policemen, who took away the posters, was out of uniform. He declined to introduce himself.
The match Armenia vs. Belarus will start at 7:00 pm.
