No birth has been recorded in Dzyunashogh village in Armenia’s Lori province during the recent two years.

According to the village administration representative Gari Grigoryan, the birth rate in the village used to be low before as well, 1-2 babies annually.

As a result, the population of the village dwindled from 260 to 140.

The village had no first-graders last year. 22 children study at the local school, although the latter is designed for 250 pupils.
