YEREVAN. - The “Courage, Commitment, Impact” banners announcing the Aurora Prize arrival have appeared round Yerevan, capital city of Armenia.

Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent asked Armine Afeyan, Director of Communications of 100 LIVES/ Aurora Prize initiative, what the aforementioned title stands for.

“The “Courage, Commitment, Impact” banners currently displayed around Yerevan announce the Aurora Prize’s arrival next month. Yerevan will host hundreds of international humanitarians, including the Aurora Prize Finalists, who arrive here to be honored by the Armenian people. The Aurora Prize expresses gratitude on behalf of Armenian Genocide survivors to their saviors by recognizing modern-day heroes who put themselves at risk to allow others to survive, just as the courageous few did for Armenians one hundred years ago,” Afeyan responded.

According to her, the demonstration of courage, commitment and impact is the criteria against which the Selection Committee will determine and evaluate the Aurora Prize Finalists.

“On April 24, the Aurora Prize Selection Committee, co-founders, and international humanitarian community will join the Armenian people in honoring the inaugural Aurora Prize Laureate. These banners are the first of many high-visibility campaigns to come, integrating the Aurora Prize into the city of Yerevan, whose people and character are integral to the nature of the award,” Afeyan stressed.
