YEREVAN. - The discussion on introducing electronic voting and fingerprinting is currently underway at the Armenian National Assembly (NA) building, where the first 4+4+4 format meeting on the Electoral Code of Armenia is being held. The format will later turn into 6+3+4.

Orinats Yerkir faction MP Hovhannes Margaryan, who came out of the building, told the aforementioned to journalists.  

In his words, the first issue addressed at the meeting was the requirement to install video cameras at the polling stations.  Margaryan also noted that the agenda of the working discussion is 5+1+1, i.e. two more proposals were added by Orinats Yerkir and Prosperous Armenia Parties to the previous five.

Orinats Yerkir made a principled proposal on summing up the election results at territorial electoral commissions instead of the Central Electoral Commission, while Prosperous Armenia proposed to introduce an e-voting system during the elections.

In the beginning of the meeting, head of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) parliamentary faction Levon Zurabyan proposed to devote today’s meeting to forming the agenda. He distributed to the attendees a procedural order, which proposed to hold seven meetings in that format twice a week. However, the mentioned procedural order wasn’t adopted.
