YEREVAN. - The talks have kicked off, but they proceed with great difficulty, Armenian National Congress (ANC) faction head Levon Zurabyan told journalists late Wednesday evening, after the meeting with the representatives of the authorities, opposition and civil society over the draft Electoral Code of Armenia.

In his words, this is natural. “I’m not sure that everything will end successfully, but the stances are very tough from the beginning. I can’t foresee whether the stances can be approximated. I don’t see this at the moment, but still I don’t want to rule out that these talks will lead to certain results. This is an attempt to reach consensus. I don’t think this is an easy process,” Zurabyan stressed.

According to him, currently the issue is whether certain results will be achieved.

“It’s still early to speak about this now. After two or three more phases it will be possible to precisely say whether we will achieve specific results or not,” the opposition MP said.
