YEREVAN. - The party system in Armenia must be further established: if a political party doesn’t have 80 members, this is a serious problem.

Chairman of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) parliamentary faction, Armen Rustamyan, said the aforementioned today at the open meeting with the representatives of government, opposition and civil society, during which draft Electoral Code of Armenia was discussed. 

In his words, from the beginning ARF-D stood for the proportional election system, but the party representatives were aware that the system has several varieties.  “We are for open, close, semi-open and semi-closed lists. The most important thing is to ensure proportionality. These issues can be discussed so that the political parties face no problems,” Rustamyan said.
