Georgian authorities are ready to organize an urgent meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani representatives to hold peace talks, one of the leaders of Georgian Dream ruling coalition said.
“There are victims. The situation is an emergency. We are ready to become mediators in any format,” RFE/RL quotes Georgiy Volskiy said.
This the first time Georgia offers to broker peace talks since 1991 when president Zviad Gamsakhurdiya initiated talks between the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents in Tbilisi but did not get their consent.
