The presidents of Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan are planning to hold security talks in Baku soon, the Voice of America reports.

Although no details of the planned talks have been announced, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a meeting in Baku last week that security cooperation in the Caspian Sea region, which according to him has become a "corridor" for the "trafficking" of terrorists, will be a key item on the meeting’s agenda.

The announcement of the Putin-Rouhani-Aliyev summit came after the escalation on the Line of Contact between the Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijani armed forces. Moscow and Tehran are facilitating the peace talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The United States urged the parties to the conflict to resumepeace talks and avoid further escalation.
