YEREVAN. – The bodies of 18 Armenian soldiers, which Azerbaijan transferred to Nagorno-Karabakh on April 10, are undergoing an examination.

Alik Avetisyan, Senior Assistant to the Minister of Defense of Armenia, stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Wednesday.

He informed that the Investigative Committee of Armenia is conducting this examination. 

It is already known that criminal cases are opened into the abuse of these bodies, and one of the tasks of the said examination is to find out whether the Azerbaijanis had tortured living Armenian captives. 

In Avetisyan’s words, this is not ruled out and there is some relevant information.

“However, the available information is still limited for a variety of reasons,” the Armenian defense minister’s assistant said noting also to the feelings of the victims’ families, as one of these reasons.  

Alik Avetisyan added that the task at hand is to launch a respective legal action.
