STEPANAKERT. - The Azerbaijani propaganda machine continues to disseminate misinformation, the message issued by the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Defense Ministry says.  

“The dissemination of information by the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry on the death of the Azerbaijani Army Junior Sergeant Rustam Ahmedov, which allegedly took place through the fault of the Armenian side, is nothing but misinformation aiming to artificially escalate the situation.   

The Defense Army press-service informs that the oral ceasefire agreement has mainly been observed on the Line of Contact between the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces during the day, with the exception of several violations by nobody but the adversary.  Specifically, at 12:10 pm, the Azerbaijani armed forces used 82 mm mortar (2 shells) in the eastern direction of the contact line (Martuni) and AGS-17 grenade launcher (6 shells) in the southeastern direction (Hadrut) at about 3:25 pm.  

It’s also not ruled out that by disseminating a message about the victim, the Azerbaijan Defense Ministry starts revealing the hundreds of casualties that it suffered during the battles on April 2-5, that list being kept top secret up to now. In order to conceal its failed military aggression, the dissemination of messages with similar content can also be expected from the Azerbaijani military agency in the future,” the message reads.
