STEPANAKERT. – Azerbaijan is deliberately intensifying the emotions, to distract attention from its own crimes, Davit Babayan, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) Presidential Spokesperson, told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Commenting on Baku’s accusations towards Yerevan, Babayan recalled that Stepanakert needs to be the negotiating party, and if Baku has some issues, it should pose them to the right addressee.

Reflecting on Azerbaijan’s finger-pointing in connection with the search for and handing over of the bodies of the casualties of the Karabakh-Azerbaijan hostilities, he said, with that, Baku is attempting to sidetrack international attention from the crimes committed by the Azerbaijani military servicemen.

“The facts on looting and dishonoring of the NKR Defense Army military servicemen’s bodies, which were handed over by Azerbaijan, have been confirmed,” the NKR presidential spokesperson stated. “An expertise is underway, which will find out whether the torture [of these bodies] was carried out while alive or after death.

“The Azerbaijani side is attempting to voice accusations in response and to exacerbate the situation, to divert attention; this stresses yet again that we are dealing with an inadequate state.”
