YEREVAN. – A training center for nuclear power plant specialists was established in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Areg Galstyan stated on Wednesday.

He noted this at his joint briefing in Yerevan with Kirill Komarov, First Deputy CEO for Corporate Development and International Business at Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation (ROSATOM), a state corporation in Russia.

In Galstyan’s words, the Armenian party will also restore the human resources for metal control specialists.

He stated that these tasks are carried out by Armenia as well as with assistance from the Russian partners.

“We have an agreement on the preparation of [respective Armenian] specialists at Russian universities; we already have sent some,” the Armenian official added. “True, not as much as we would like, but I hope that more students [from Armenia] (…) will head off this year.”
