YEREVAN. – It cannot be permitted that, during [the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement] negotiations, Baku reap benefits from the military aggression.  

Shavarsh Kocharyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, told the aforementioned to reporters, after Thursday’s Cabinet session.

He assured, however, that the Armenian party will see to it that the Karabakh peace talks do not take on such a course.

“We need to take into account the aggressive demeanor of Azerbaijan, which already has violated three tripartite agreements, and the future negotiation process will have the following provisions as a starting point,” Kocharyan noted and continued: “First, shooting must be stopped because it’s impossible to conduct negotiations when they are shooting. Second, it needs to be taken into account [that] we are dealing with a subject [i.e. Azerbaijan] which declines from its own international obligations. [This] means they may decline from their signatures at any phase in the future, too.”
