YEREVAN. – Armenia has become more attractive for the Iranian exporters after its accession to the Eurasian Union, Chairman of the Iranian-Armenian Chamber of Commerce Levon Aharonyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am in the framework of Invest Armenia – 2016 forum in Yerevan.

“Many Iranian entrepreneurs who I have spoken to want to import semi-finished products to Armenia, process them here, and then easily export them to Russia. Last week we held a meeting at our Chamber: all those present spoke in favor of such a possibility. It’s only necessary to strictly observe the criteria of the country of origin so that the ready-made products, such as the Armenian one, can freely be exported to other countries of the European Union,” Aharonyan said.

Besides, according to him, the collection of customs duties from the semi-finished products also needs to be regulated. These products must be documented in the temporary import regime, since they will thereafter be processed and exported. This means that these dirties shouldn’t be levied on the border.  “We wrote about this to the Ministry of Economy two months ago, asking them to review the issue. We are waiting for an answer,” the he noted.
