On September 28, Turkish Interior Minister Besir Atalay received Lloyd Austin, Commanding General of United States Forces in Iraq the Anadolu news agency reports.

The officials discussed security issues, as well as the activities of the PKK organization, Atalay’s recent visit to Iraq and his meeting with the leader of the Kurdish Regional Government in northern Iraq, Massoud Barzani.

Austin also met with Chief of Turkish General Staff General Isik Kosaner. The sides discussed the situation in Iraq and regional security issues, Trend News reports.
