The international conference “Security and information cooperation problems in the South Caucasus” is to open in Yerevan on September 30. The conference has been organized under the auspices of the RA presidential administration. Representatives of Russia, Armenia and Georgian mass media, experts and public figures will take part in the conference.

The 5th conference, which is to last until October 2, is aimed at facilitating information cooperation between the South Caucasus nations. The conference highlights the importance of mass media’s impartial work and cooperation.

Among the participants are Alexey Venediktov, Editor of Ekho Moskvy (Echo of Moscow) radio, Konstantin Simonov, Director General of the National Energy Security Fund, Efim Pivovar, the Dean (Rector) of the Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH), Dr. Nikolai Zlobin, Director of the Russia and Eurasia Project at the World Security Institute, Ruslan Gusarov, a journalist for the NTV TV company, Vladimir Mamontov, Editor-in-Chief of the Izvestia daily, Kirill Tanaev, Director General of the Foundation for Effective Politics (FEP), Alan Kasaev, Head of the CIS and Baltic States Editorial Board, RIA Novosti, Tato Laskhishvili, Editor-in-Chief of Free Georgia, Giya Meparishvili Professor of Tbilis State University of Economic Relations, Alexander Rusetskiy, Head of the South Caucasus Institute for Regional Security, as well as other experts.

The participants will hold panel discussions, meetings with Armenian journalists and master classes for students of Armenian higher schools.
