YEREVAN. - Even if no consensus is reached on the Electoral Code, opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) will not change its stance regarding the consolidation, leader of the ANC faction Levon Zurabyan told journalists Tuesday.

“These two processes should never be linked with each other. We don’t want to make them subject of haggling. Even if no consensus is reached on the Electoral Code, we will still remain committed to our opinion if military actions are continuing - regardless of whether the authorities were able to show state mentality to the same extent as the opposition,” Zurabyan said.

In his words, the opposition doesn't stop criticizing the authorities: it is only withdrawing the idea of power change at this stage, since this can lead to strong disturbances in the country.

“We understand that one shouldn’t harm one’s army and soldier, when Azerbaijan is attacking. On the other hand, it’s anomalous that we have to explain this. The authorities should understand that such conduct destroys stability,” he added.
