By the end of 2016, Google will launch feminist Emojis , which will reflect the key role of women in different spheres of life and professions. A preliminary version of the symbols the company introduced at the event Unicode Consortium, reports Lenta. According to the authors, Emoji are designed to support gender equality in the workplace. In total, the company has developed 13 categories of "profession" symbols: a woman as a businesswoman, scientist, doctor, cook, farmer , mechanic , rock star, and others.
Google was inspired to create gender Emojis by reading the review on Emoji Feminism of The New York Times, the authors of which drew attention to the fact that a set of icons present men at work only. " It is women under the age of 30 who most actively use emojis, whereas a huge range of professions is not yet covered . We want to help to solve this issue , " said a Google presentation.
