Four Iranian citizens imprisoned in Armenia will be transferred to Iran in accordance with prisoner extradition agreement, Iranian official said.

Director-General of International Cooperation affiliated to Iran Judiciary Ministry Mohammad Ali Mehranfar said the agreement was signed last week, IRNA reported.

He said at least 16 Iranian inmates are behind bars in Armenia and they would be transferred to the Islamic Republic in near future.

On June 1, Iranian Minister of Justice Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi and his Armenia counterpart singed an agreement to exchange prisoners between the two countries.
