The first academic year of the pilot program on using Armenian tablets has ended in schools of Armenia's Vayots Dzor province.

At the presentation of ArmPhone smartphones, CEO of Technology and Science Dynamics (TSD) LLC, Vahan Shakaryan, told journalists that the Education Ministry is going to order new consignment of tablets for 2016-17 academic year. 

''They asked for Android last year, and this year they asked for Windows. It has the form of a laptop, which can be separated and turned into a tablet,'' he said.

The pilot program ''One pupil, one computer'' is implemented in Vayots Dzor province. It will last for four years. If proved effective, the program will also be implemented in other provinces and Yerevan starting from 2019 and 2025 respectively.
