Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian held a meeting with his Georgian counterpart Grigol Vashadze in Yerevan, October 4.
The RA foreign office’s press service informed NEWS.am that the ministers’ private meeting was followed by an enlarged one. The Armenian and Georgian FMs thoroughly discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral relations. The sides discussed the implementation of the bilateral presidential agreements, as well as economic, transport, energy cooperation, tourism development and organization of business forums. The Armenian and Georgian FMs also discussed bilateral cooperation within international institutions, and consultations between the foreign offices.
The Armenian and Georgian FMs exchanged views on legal underpinnings for bilateral agreements.
On the Armenian side’s initiative, the sides also discussed a number of issues related to Georgian Armenians, particularly, education and cultural heritage problems. In this context, Minister Nalbandian expressed satisfaction with intensified cultural exchange. The sides pointed out the need for applying the positive experience gained in this area.
