The UEFA Euro 2016 has kicked off in Paris. The Championship starts with the match of the hosts, the French squad, against the Roman one. The meeting is held at Stade de France stadium. President François Hollande has already arrived there.

The Eiffel Tower is lit with the colors of French flag. The fans are waving the Roman and French tricolors in the grandstands. 15 thousand fans will support Anghel Iordănescu’s team in the stadium.  

According to the organizers, 550 people are taking part in the opening ceremony, 25 of them being professional actors. The actions are taking place on an enormous canvas in the style of a French garden.  A merry-go-round, which has already been moved to the field, occupies the central place.

The ceremony stage weighs 4.5 tons, and it will have to be removed from the field literally in a couple of minutes!

David Guetta appeared on the stage and presented the official song of Euro 2016, This One's For You! The ceremony told about the history and culture of France. Volunteers are wearing corresponding costumes. 144 girls are dancing can-can.

The image of Eifel Tower then appeared on the field. The flags of all the member states are placed in the grandstands.  

Upon the end of the ceremony, the players of French and Romanian teams entered the field. The match is starting.
