The CE Parliamentary Assembly has opened its autumn session. The PACE Monitoring Committee will hold its regular sitting on October 4 to discuss the implementation of resolutions on Armenia.
The Armenian delegation to PACE has arrived in Strasbourg. According to a preliminary statement, Arman Grigoryan, a representative of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) at the Council of Europe, will take part in the sitting. On October 5, Naira Zohrabian, a member of the Armenian delegation of the Heritage Party, will deliver a report entitled “Racism, Xenomania, and Extremism.”
NEWS.am reminds readers that the ANC handed a message over to the CE office in Yerevan on October 1.
In the message, the ANC proposes that the PACE Monitoring Committee discuss the ANC-submitted schedule containing the following demands: immediate release of political prisoners, freedom of processions, early parliamentary and presidential elections.
The PACE autumn session is to be held Oct 4 to 8.
