The income tax of Armenian citizens is not lower than those in Russia.

Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC), Vakhtang Mirumyan, said the aforementioned in the parliament Monday, introducing the republic’s draft Tax Code, which will take effect from 2018.

Specifically, he responded to the comment of MP Edmon Marukyan on that the income tax in Russia is only 13 percent, when it starts from 24.4 percent in Armenia. This, according to the MP, raises the motivation to work not in Armenia, but abroad.

In response, Mirumyan noted that the tax burden in Russia is not limited by PIT. Together with the social payments, it reaches 32 percent, i.e. this being more than in Armenia.

However, if Armenia exports services through its migrant workers, the income tax in this case is fixed at 13 percent, considering that Russia is the main market for them.
