The results of 2016 Global Software Survey recently carried out by Business Software Alliance reveals that since 2015, 86 percent of the software installed on the computers in Armenia are not licensed. Overall, the application of unlicensed software decreased by 1-6 percent in the post-Soviet countries. The percentage in Armenia is higher than it is in the neighboring countries . The best results are registered in Georgia .
For comparison, software piracy rate in the Western Europe is 28%, in Russia it is 64 percent, in Latvia 49 percent, in Lithuania 51 percent, and in Poland 48%. According to the study of the Business Software Alliance, 39% of the software installed is computers in 2015 worldly have been pirated . Compared to the data of the last year, the index decreased by 4% .
According to the data of Microsoft cybercrime center, 80% of the CIS countries last year became victims of cyber attacks , and 97.5% of small and medium businesses , at least once were subjected to cyber threats. Microsoft recommends users to use only licensed software packages, from time to time hold seminars on security, as well as use specific applications to secure their data.
