YEREVAN. – The centuries-old friendship between the Yazidis and Armenians is unbreakable, and this was again proved during the Karabakh War, said Aziz Tamoyan, President of the National Union of Yazidis, at a press conference on Tuesday.
In his words, a total of 36 Yazidis fell—from the Armenian side—during the Karabakh War, and five more died as a result of the Azerbaijani aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh, in early April.
Tamoyan noted that the bill on recognizing the Yazidis’ genocide by Turkey is pleasing. He added that the important thing is to make sure Turkey realizes that it cannot exterminate the Armenians, Yazidis, Assyrians, Jews, and Greeks.
“There were terrible massacres; it is proved,” he added. “We have all the facts and documents which attest to this.”
