We are now moving to the formation of the middle class, which seems to not exist in the country, Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan told journalists in Gyumri Tuesday, referring to the draft Tax Code discussed at the Armenian National Assembly (NA).

“We support the small and medium enterprises. We are now discussing this at the NA. I talked by phone with the leaders of several factions; they have various reasonable proposals. The State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia has been instructed to discuss all the unsolved issues with all the MPs and political forces,” Abrahamyan said.  

The opposition MPs claim that the Code will “behead” the medium business and not contribute to the development of economy.
