Russia intends to maintain its strategic partnership with Armenia.

Russian Minister of Defense Sergey Shoygu stated the aforesaid during the talk with his Armenian colleague, Seyran Ohanyan, according to TASS news agency of Russia.

“We would like to maintain our strategic partnership from now on, too,” said Shoygu.

He noted that the bilateral military and technico-military cooperation between Armenia and Russia is regulated by more than fifty contracts and agreements.

“We are satisfied with the pace and extensiveness of our cooperation,” added the Russian defense minister. “We cooperate in all directions; I can set apart the education sector.”

He recalled that numerous Armenian military servicemen study at Russian military academies, and that respective applications of more than 200 Armenian officers were submitted this year.

“We are ready to assist these applications,” assured Sergey Shoygu.
