In late June, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member countries will conduct expert talks with Iran, on establishing a free trade zone (FTZ).
Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia, Alexey Likhachev, told the aforementioned to TASS news agency of the country.
“Since Iran is not a member in the World Trade Organization, and specific national measures of trade regulation operate there, we need to understand how we can adapt our interests to these rules,” said the Russian official.
The EAEU-Iran consultations on a FTZ began in May, and Russia is ready to open up its export products to Iran.
Likhachev noted that Russia is currently negotiating with the other EAEU countries, to determine what product groups they are ready to open.
The Eurasian Economic Union comprises Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
