Creation of a mechanism for investigation into ceasefire violations provide a good basis for negotiations on Karabakh conflict, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan at the meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, reports TASS.

“Our position on Karabakh is known. We want this issue to be resolved peacefully, and I want to thank you along with other co-chairing countries of the OSCE Minsk Group for understanding and efforts you devote to this matter,” President Sargsyan said.

Unfortunately, such conflicts are not solved with the willingness of one party only, the Armenian leader said, adding that “we would be happy if we were able today to make progress on the implementation of the agreements that we have reached, namely on creation of the mechanisms to investigate violations of ceasefire. And it will create a working mood to negotiate.”

President Putin, in turn, agreed to discuss all these issues.
