YEREVAN. – School education in Armenia should be modern, but it should serve the preservation of the nation, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan said at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

In his words, the selection of school principals, and the matters related to school budget need to be transparent. 

Abrahamyan added that there also are unresolved issues with respect to lyceums and colleges.

As per the PM, the activities of university boards and the admission procedures also need to be reviewed. 

The Premier noted that, ultimately, compliance between higher education and the labor market is an important priority.

“To solve these problems, the Ministry of Education and Science will conduct necessary consultations with other authorized state agencies,” added Hovik Abrahamyan.
