Samvel Balasanyan, who recently joined the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) has been elected vice-speaker of the Armenian National Assembly.
Eighty-three of the 131 Armenian MPs participated in a secret ballot. Salasanyan was elected with 74 to six, with three abstentions.
Under the coalition agreement, this post “belongs” to the PAP. The former vice-speaker Arevik Petrposyan resigned from the post the other day.
